DDH UK Warrior Walk · 1 March 2017

DDH UK is the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting those living with a hip dysplasia diagnosis and putting this life changing condition on the map. We support those on their journey to healthy hips and aim to put this potentially life changing condition on the map. DDH UK

Story

As you know, we set up DDH UK to raise awareness of hip dysplasia, a condition Lucas was diagnosed with when he was 4 months old. Over the past seven years Lucas has had many operations and spent the best part of a year in harnesses, casts and wheelchairs.

We were staggered at how little information or support there was for parents and after several set backs, we realised this was more than a broken bone for our son, and we were on the hip journey for the longhaul.

I wrote Cast Life, A Parent's Guide to DDH and set up DDH UK.

While we are based in the UK we are now offering support and information for parents and patients around the world.

All the time his big brother, Eddie, has been by his side and on 1 March they will be walking a mile with their school friends at Stover to raise money for the charity so we can help even more people on their journey.
