Story
I am running the marathon in memory of my Dad who died on 2 October last year. Dad had a massive brain haemorrhage in July last year, he spent the first few days on life support but battled to stay with us. The next few months were hard but dad slowly started to recover and was soon talking again. We thought Dad was getting better but he was losing lots of weight, in September the doctors did some investigations and discovered Dad had advanced bowel cancer. Dad had battled to recover from the brain haemorrhage only to be given a few months at most. A week later Dad was moved into the Hospicare Hospice in Exeter, they could not do enough for Dad while he was there. Dad died 10 days later. The staff at Hospicare were fantastic. Thank you for helping through such tough times. I want to raise money to help other families who have to go through such tough times. We all miss Dad terribly. He was 65 and still had so much he wanted to do.
