Story
"Long before Christmas an advert went out at my work requesting for Commandos to come forward to do a challanging 45 mile hike to raise money for Help for Heros. I madly signed up, thinking it was a while away, sounded fun and would be a good challenge. However the New Year came around quick and the training started. I have got in to the swing of things, putting my best foot forward and so far have cranked up nearly 130 miles in training. So please dig deep, and support me in my challenge."
The route has now been plotted and the logistics planned. It will take two days; so the Commandos will set off from Canterbury bright and early on Thursday 25 June for a 30 mile hike to Higham in North West Kent, where they’ll be billeted for the night.
Then on Friday 26 June, the platoon will finish off with a 15 mile ‘home straight’ to Moat’s central office in Dartford. It’ll be a tough challenge, but our Commandos have been training hard and we’re super-confident that they’ll accomplish their mission.
All the funds raised will be donated to a specific Help for Heroes project which is centred in the heart of where we work in South East England. We’re aiming to raise £10,000, so we need all the help we can get. Any amount will make a huge difference – so thank you in advance for your support.
