Story
Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my page and read my profile.
For those not aware my best friend and Granda unfortunately fell to this horrible disease in July 2017 after 9 long years of fighting the good fight his body could no longer suffer any more.
You may remember back in 2017 I ran the Baker Hughes 10k in Aberdeen for Alzheimers and managed to raise a huge amount and I am looking for the same kindness this time around as I embark on what will undoubtedly be the toughest challenge I've ever faced - a full marathon.
Last Aug I successfully completed the Great Aberdeen half marathon in a respectable time of 2hrs 23min, that was the confidence I needed to get signed up for a marathon.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go a long way in helping this wonderful charity continue with the great work they are already doing. Unfortunately this disease is a killer, its degenerative and not only does it take the persons life away it greatly affects those around them as well. Running a marathon will be nothing in comparison to what sufferers and their families go through, I can say that having been on my own journey with my amazing Granda who is undoubtedly my inspiration for everything in life.
I love you Pops x
