My name is Natalie Boulton and I'm a paramedic based in Leicester. In this role I see the amazing work the Congenital Heart Centre provides to young patients every day. However, on Wednesday 4th July the Joint Committee of Primary Care Trusts recommended that Children's Heart Surgery be stopped at the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre based at the Glenfield Hospital in Leicester. The nearest hospital to provide the services is the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

My work colleagues and I will be cycling from Glenfield Hospital to Queen Elizabeth Hospital which is approximately 40 miles, to demonstrate how far local patients will have to travel for their life saving treatment if the unit is closed.

**UPDATE - 19/05/14* 

Sadly due to a back injury the date of my bike ride is going to have to be put back for a few months for recovery. The ride will DEFINITELY still go ahead and many thanks to all who have already donated. I won't let you or this wonderful charity down.
