Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After moving to Lee on Solent in May 2021, I decided that I would like to take up open water swimming. I had my first lesson in July 2021 at which point I could not swim front crawl! In August 2022, just over a year since my first lesson, I will be swimming across the Solent from Stokes Bay to the Isle of Wight. As the crow flies, it is 2.5 - 3 miles. But as the current in the Solent runs east to west or west to east depending on the tide and I will be swimming north to south, it could be much longer if we get a strong current on the day pushing us off course. 

I am currently training in the sea at Hill Head with 2+ x 2 hour swims a week. This will increase closer to the actual swim when I am aiming to do training swims of 3 - 4 hours.
