We champion play to help seriously ill children

Story

Hi Everyone & thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I am running 26.2 miles in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon, for two charities that are close to my heart and my work!

Starlight grant wishes for seriously and terminally ill children, they also provide distraction boxes.  I am the lucky owner of such a box, I use it regularly and find it invaluable in building up fun and trusting relationships at difficult times.  These boxes really do make a difference and help break the ice with frightened and scared children.

I have never run a marathon before so this has been a tough challenge, but i have been training hard through blisters, shin splints and even ice and snow in the early months of training, but it's all for a wothwhile cause! Having a wish granted by Starlight not only creates lasting and happy memories but it gives children something to look forward to, helping them through what is often unpleasant treatments.
