As many will know, my mum has secondary breast cancer and the wonderful team at The Royal Marsden have cared for her and supported her and basically kept her alive for a hell of a lot longer than we ever anticipated. 

It was also at The Royal Marsden that we said goodbye to my aunt due to secondary breast cancer. And once again, the care they gave was exemplary.

And now it is the turn of my big sister and me to be having our screening done there. 

As a family we have appreciated all the research undertaken and treatments that are offered, as this has undoubtedly enabled us to have more time with my mum. I think there have been 3 occasions when she has been told she is on the last treatment option, only for another drug to make it through research and be offered to her.  She is forever saying how lovely and wonderful the whole Royal Marsden team are.
