In the UK today there are over 68,000 children and young people reliant on the state for their care and wellbeing, with 378,000 more needing some level of support from children’s services. It’s not their fault. They are there because their families cannot care for them safely or because they have been abused or neglected.

After working with children in the care system during my internship, I became aware of not only how many young people have an unfair start in life, but also how easily this can be alleviated by having people in their lives who actually care.

Coram voice is an advocacy service for children and young people, allowing them to have their voice heard, supporting them through the care system and empowering them to make decisions that will benefit them. Above all, they listen.

Running, and exercise in general, is definitely not my forte. I aim to run the 10k without stopping to walk, and I'm sure any donations will spur me on to that finishing line. Thank you!
