Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I work for Action for Children and my hobby is quilt making. I have been making face masks for my friends and family from the start of the pandemic.
The Scottish Government announced today that it will be mandatory to wear face masks in shops from Friday 10 July as it already is on public transport in Scotland and England.
The masks I make are made from 100% cotton with adjustable elastic which loops around your head rather than behind your ears. They are easy to use and fully washable. They also fit nicely in a pocket or handbag.
I have always been amazed by the fantastic work our front line workers do with the most vulnerable children, young people and families throughout the UK but I am in complete awe at how they have adapted to the pandemic. They are still out there working at the front line using PPE where needed , meeting the children, young people and families and helping them through this awful situation.
As I was already making masks, I felt that I could help out a little by raising some money which will go directly to the emergency fund for children, young people and families during this pandemic. I am donating all the material and my time and so I would be really grateful if you did make a donation. I am suggesting £5 per mask but happy with whatever anyone can give. I can make them in Women/Teenager, Men, age 3-6, and age 7 - 12. I can't promise which material you will get but let me know your favourite colour and if you want anything written on the mask - see the gallery. You can email me at nancy.barron@actionforchildren.org.uk
