Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the London Marathon in memory of my "stepdad", Terence Coghlan, who passed away from a serious brain injury last year.
He was an extremely fit man of 75 years and in fact worked full time at Tesco. In July last year he fell while he was gardening on his beloved allotment and sustained a brain injury. He stoically endured two major brain operations and although he was in good humour throughout, sadly passed away on 2nd October 2009. He was a very special character and his energy, joy of life and love touched many lives.
I am raising money for Headway, a charity organisation whose objectives include increasing awareness of brain injury, providing support for sufferers and their families and reintroducing them to community living.
So please dig deep and donate now. Every little helps - £5 or £10 / R50 or R100, it all helps to fill the pot. And if you find yourself able to give a little more, it is all so greatly appreciated.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I am in full training for this massive event in my life which happens to fall on my birthday this year, and although I have no doubt it will be a tough and emotional journey, it will also be a huge achievement and there will be great cause for celebration upon crossing that finish line. I would love to have as many of you there as possible to support me along the way so please do come along. Picnic in the park anyone?
Thank you again for your support, I can't do this without it.
lots of love
