Here in the North West District there are not many people who don't have a connection with someone who is either serving in Afghanistan now or has done in the recent past. Almost everyone has certainly had a relative or a  friend who has served in previous conflicts. With three main air force bases within our borders we have a daily reminder as the aircraft regularly fly over us that there are some very brave people out there who are putting their lives at risk. Not only do we want to help the heroes but the surviving members of their families, who either have to cope with loss of their loved one or with their long term disability which can be a result of surviving.

As church bellringers we are entrusted with the priviledge of ringing our church bells to celebrate good times or to mourn the dead. We are part of this local community and want to give a little bit more back than just our skills, so that is why we are asking you to sponsor a quarter peal attempt in a church near you. It will take place during the period 11th April to 18th April 2010. These dates have been deliberately chosen to allow our young school age ringers to take part.

Nearer the time there will be posters advertising the quarter peal. If you would like one rung for a special event during this time or indeed at any other time and you would like to sponsor it in aid of H4H then please get in touch. Our initial target is £1000 but the more we raise the more help we can give. Please give as generously as you can.
