Neil’s Headshave for Peru (he’s going bald again)

In September I am leading a team of 28 to Peru to build homes for Street Children. We will be visiting two sites, at Kusi in the high Andes (300 miles north of Lima, and at Urabamba, in the south (close to Cusco). The team will be working with 30 indigenous Peruvians, amongst other things making mud bricks for use in the ancient art of adobe brick construction (we get to jump around in mud!).

The reserve price for me to lose my hair is £500; this is the minimum amount that needs to be raised before I give permission for my head to be shaved (with an open razor).

The Vine Trust currently support 9 street childrens homes in Peru and is seeking to build a new street childrens home every year to have 15 homes by 2015. Giving money to the Vine Trust helps us to fund our street children and medical programs in the following ways:

·   £5         Buys school books for a street boy for a year

·   £10       Buys lunch for 30 children at one of our street children's centres

·   £50       Trains a local health educator to be based in an Amazon village

·   £100     Provides medicine for up to 200 people on Amazon Hope's quarterly visits

·   £500     Employs a Peruvian medical director for one month

·  £6000    Builds a bungalow at Kawai funding 3 permanent places at a street children's village

·  £10,000 Purchases bakery equipment and training for a new bakery.
