Story
Hi, we are NCS The Impactors and for our Social Action project we are raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust.
We are setting up a stall in St William of York Church Hall, Thornton L23 4TG on Thursday 3rd August, 12pm-5pm. Come along to check out our stall which will include henna tattoos, cup stacking, face glitter, colouring and more. We are also doing a Charity Bingo Night at the Brunswick Youth and Community Centre, Bootle at 6pm on Thursday 3rd August. Check out our social media pages (see below) to find out more about the upcoming events and let your friends and family know too. We hope you can make it!
Any contribution, regardless of its quantity, will be invaluable in improving the lives of young sufferers of cancer all over the UK. One member of our group knows first-hand how vital the work of this charity is: his name is Andrew.
Andrew was first diagnosed with cancer at the age of 12. He spent his 13th birthday bed-bound in Birmingham, where he stayed for 2 weeks after having a tumour removed. Following this, he underwent 10 weeks of radiotherapy. He stayed in hospital for 2 weeks in December, only being let home for Christmas Day.
He spent 3 months with Vac-Pac to seal the wound and took daily visits for dressing changes. Sadly, had another scare last September, however he was given the all clear.
The Teenage Cancer Trust provided Andrew with a better quality of life and lasting friendships. Also, it gave his parents reassurance that he was enjoying himself as much as he could.
