For our social action project as an NCS team, we are raising money to provide Sittingbourne with a baby memorial garden to provide families with support and a space to remember their lost children. 
Child loss is a sensitive and emotional topic, and we aim to raise awareness for this seldom spoke about issue. 

East Kent Baby Memorial Gardens is a charity that provide beautiful gardens across Kent for bereaved families to remember their lost children. We chose this charity to support them in their goal of allowing them to build a new garden, in Sittingbourne, where the original garden is located in Ashford. 

There are so many families in Kent alone who deal with the loss of a child, and many/most do not have a space to show their remembrance and love as a community of bereaved families. Gardens like these are places where parents can record the names and dates of birth of their babies, and where people who have struggled with baby loss are able to find one another and create an open conversation about this difficult topic as a community.
