Worthing Food Foundation began as a mutual aid food bank during the first Covid lockdown. We provide food and other household essentials to our neighbours experiencing food insecurity. As well as the Worthing Food Foundation self-referral food bank and our uniform exchange, we recently took over running the Worthing Vegan Food Bank.
Official figures show that more than 12,000 people in Worthing alone go hungry, skip meals or don't have access to enough healthy food - that's 10% of the population.
And because we know that food banks are not the answer, we are active partners in the 'Right to Food' campaign with Ian Byrne MP, The Coop Food Justice Campaign and others to bring together national campaigns, politicians, food banks, councils and activists to shape a coordinated Right to Food movement across the country. Our aim is to enshrine the human right to food in UK law and take meaningful action to make sure people get the food they need.
Thank you so much for your support!
