We are powered by people. We’re here to find a cure and improve lives, together.

Story

Like many of life’s great ideas, MH2YH was born over a few beers between a couple of guys with a thirst for a challenge.

Rog lives in London, UK, on a boat, by Albert Bridge in Battersea. And Olly lives about 537km away in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The 2013 MH2YH challenge is to get from Rog’s house to Olly’s house in five days, by manpower alone, and preferably in one piece. By bike. On foot. Oh yes, and a relay swim across the English Channel. Not forgetting the rigorous and all consuming training to turn a team of ten thirty-somethings (coming in varying degrees of physical refinement) into mean, lean, power machines…

This is about a group of ordinary guys making an extraordinary journey, having one hell of a good time on the way, and raising a load of cash for a great cause while they’re at it.

For a great cause...

The 2013 team will be raising money for Parkinson’s UK, which works to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. Will’s dad has Parkinson’s, so this means a lot to Will, and a lot to the whole team.

The fundraising target is £53,000, or about £10 for every kilometre covered by every person taking part. Every £1000 raised funds a cutting edge research project for a week. So, if we reach our target, we’ll have funded research to find a cure and to improve treatment for those living with Parkinson’s for a whole year. And we think that sounds pretty great. Please support our challenge to help make extraordinary things happen.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Thanks. We really appreciate it.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
