Story
In February 2016 I will be part of an 8 man crew attempting to break the 32 day world record to row across the Atlantic Ocean. Our team will be rowing a shift pattern of 2 hours on, 2 hours off for the 3000 mile (4800km) trans-Atlantic route from the Canary Islands to Barbados, and skippered by Simon Chalk of Oceanus Rowing, regarded to be one of the most experienced ocean rowers ever. This challenge will take a great deal of extreme physical and mental strength ….THE WORLD’S TOUGHEST ROW…
In doing this I hope to raise awareness and funding for ZANE (Zimbabwe A National Emergency) which is heavily involved with many organisations within Zimbabwe, helping to improve the lives of many needy, underprivileged and vulnerable Zimbabweans. I will be specifically supporting Borradaile Trust, a home for the aged, many of whom are suffering the dire consequences of a collapsed economy, and Homefields, a home for mentally and physically challenged, providing a home environment, care and special needs education & skills training …..and living proof that disability does not mean inability.
You can visit the ZANE website at www.zane.uk.com and the Homefields website at www.hfzw.org
For my little sister, Louise and other Zimbabweans with special needs... this is for you!
