Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Geoff and I have always wanted to do a "battlefields tour" so when the opportunity came up to do this sponsored cycle ride through Belgium and France, visiting Loos, Vimy Ridge, going through Albert and Bethune and on to Ypres and the Menin Gate for the Last Post Ceremony then back home via Dunkirk, we jumped at the chance. Cycling on average 50 miles a day accompanied by up to 100 other riders many of whom are active or wounded service and ex-service men attached to the Rifles Regiment, it will not be all about the physical effort but also the emotional upheaval that everyone who visits these war cemeteries inevitably experiences - and Geoff and I have got to cycle together for 5 days without falling out with each other - not sure which part is going to be the most stressful!

The ride is in aid of Care for Casualties which is part of the Rifles Regimental Trust. We really hope you can give generously. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
