We(Kirsten  Knight and Moira Collins) will be cycling on a hilly route over 2 long days on 29th and 30th August. The route takes us between Inverness and Aberdeen via Speyside and Donside. Each day we will cover more than 80 miles of demanding terrain. It will be quite a challenge and we are in training! A cycling trip to the Hebrides should toughen us up for the rigours of the event.

The aim of the Sandpiper Trust is to help save lives in Scotland by improving immediate care especially in the remote and rural areas, through the provision of appropriate standardised and uniform medical equipment, known as Sandpiper Bags, for use by specially trained GPs, community nurses, paramedics and A&E Consultants. As a rural GP ,the Sandpiper Trust is naturally a charity close to Moira's heart. It is a pleasure to be able to fundraise for such a worthwhile cause.

The Sandpiper Trust provides emergency medical equipment for trained medical professionals in remote parts of Scotland. Our aim is to save lives across Scotland; lives which might otherwise have been lost because it’s not always possible for emergency treatment to be administered quickly enough.
