Story
I visited the Eden Project before Christmas and noticed a zip wire high up in the sky above the biomes there. I remember thinking how I wish I had the nerve to do something as mad as that but a woman of my age with a fear of heights? Not a chance.
But then I started thinking how if I were to take the plunge (not literally!) for charity, then I would have to do it.
So here I am, going public with no going back now, telling you all that on the 19th February at 2.45pm I will be flying along England's fastest zip wire, travelling at 60mph and launching off a 40 meter cliff. This challenge will take approximately one minute; one very long minute and I feel quite sick just thinking about it.
I have chosen The Archie Lloyd Charitable Foundation for personal reasons. Archie's mother is a friend of mine and our children all went to the same school when they were young.
Archie tragically died the year he left school whilst travelling with his friends. He was only 18 with an amazing future ahead of him. An enthusiast who loved life. A keen footballer, determined to achieve great things.
The Foundation has been set up in his memory to inspire and motivate disadvantaged young people today, who deserve a helping hand to change the course of their lives and to send them on their way to a better and more fulfilling future.
How could I not take a deep breath and fly like a bird over the Eden Project Biomes when it could make a difference to a young person out there now?
So I am asking you to support me by donating to this amazing cause in memory of the amazing young man, Archie.
