Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I love challenges but I haven't taken part in many lately, so to make up for it, I will be completing 10 OiN challenges throughout the year! See below to find out why. #missionandahalf
Here's the loony list of challenges;
1) March for Orphans - A sponsored 5km walk at Lickeys Hills Country Park.
Status: Completed this challenge in March and did 10km instead!
2) Insane Terrain - A 5km very muddy and very intense obstacle course
Status: Completed this in April, harder than I thought, needed a stretcher!
3) Bungee Jump - A 160ft Bungee Jump over water, not for the faint hearted and the one I am Not looking forward too!!
Status: Completed in July and was one of the Scariest challenges I have ever done!
4) Skydive – A 13,000ft Skydive, yes 13,000! Freefalling at 130mph! At least no one can hear me scream!
Status: Almost passed out from the joy.. of it being over! Never again!!
5) Snowdon – Climbing up England and Wales highest mountain is really quite something, climbing it in the dark to watch the sunrise is Something Else!!
Status: To be held on 15th August
6) Long Lake – As an extremely competitive person, I can’t wait to win the race, kayaking across Lake Windermere. I hope they give me a life vest, you know, just in case!
Status: To be held in August
7) Insane Terrain Part II - Why am I doing this again? (Note to self: Just keep remembering the cause) This time it’s 10km! Well, it’s through a field, forest and lake – I hope no one spots me taking a shortcut!
8) The Grand Canyon – One of the big ones, trekking through the Grand Canyon, camping out and avoiding bears and coyotes!
Status: To be held on 1st November
9) The Hike in the Dark – Oh come on, who keeps thinking of this stuff?! Trekking through a forest, you guessed it, in the dark! I hope I don’t find the cabin in the woods!
Status: To be held in November
10) The Himalayan Trek – Another one of the big ones, trekking through the Himalayas, yes the mountain range with K2 and Everest, got to remember to pack a thermos! But I’m glad we’ll get a chance to visit an orphanage and meet some of the orphans and widows we help support. Bonus!
Status: To be held on 25th
December - Possibly may be postponed or changed to a different challenge due to the recent natural disasters there
Why am I doing all this and risking life and limb u
The Cause: Kashmir, the forgotten disaster - Decades of war has orphaned over 600,000 children. Many of these live in abject poverty, research has shown that 50% of these children are in a state of depression. It’s not in the media but it’s in our hearts, We have got to do something about this.
Orphans in Need is constructing a centre of excellence for 150 destitute
orphans, which will provide a safe and loving home for these innocent
children. Please visit http://www.orphansinneed.org.uk/kashmir-orphanage/
for further information on this project. Please note: Zakat payments will go towards orphan sponsorship.
Please, please, please – help us to realise this dream for our children in Kashmir – please donate as much as you can.
Thank you for reading this, please donate and pray I make it to 2016!
