2014: To celebrate my 70th birthday I walked the Peddars Way and North Norfolk Coastal Path in aid of my chosen charity, (see my blog for the full story of my walk http://70stilltravelling.blogspot.co.uk. From birthday presents and sponsorship I raised nearly £2,000 for Plan UK, which I chose because I believe in its mission to provide education and health resources for children in the Third World and sponsor two small girls through their sponsorship scheme, one in India and one in Colombia
2015/2016: I am hoping to visit my sponsored child in India next year and have increased my target to £5,000 hoping to raise a sum of around £3000, matching what it will cost to make that visit.
I am starting my fundraising efforts by setting up a monthly Supper Club in my home: I will provide food and hospitality in return for donations. You may be visiting this site for the purpose of making your donation. If so please use the words 'supper club' in your message.
March 2016 Café Chien Doré is proving very successful;
from February 2015 to March 2016 11 events raised over £2,000, and now in March
2016 the fund stands at over £4,000, with less than £1,000 to go.
I hope to go to India to make the visit this autumn having achieved my target of £5,000. Please come to the Café and donate generously to help me do this. To find out more go to our blog at auchiendore.wordpress.com. You’ll find information about what we do,
past events and forthcoming events.
I'll be finding other creative ways of raising funds once the Supper Club is launched.
