On Thursday 10th September, I will be taking part in AMV's The AMVzing Race, cycling 6 miles from Hammersmith Bridge to Battersea Park with my friend Vanessa Wise in tow. We will be completing this challenge as an agency on behalf of MIND Mental Health Charity:
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. And yet, there is still a huge stigma around mental health issues, and hundreds of thousands of people struggle without support each year.
Mind, the leading mental health charity in the UK, believe no one should face mental health problems alone, and pledge not to give up until all sufferers get support and respect. They provide advice and support to anyone experiencing mental health problems, and campaign tirelessly to improve services, and to raise awareness and understanding.
It's a charity that's close to our hearts, so anything you can do to support would be greatly appreciated.
What is The AMVZING Race?
An all-agency-powered journey from Land’s End to 90 Southwark Street over 4 days: Monday 7th Sept – Thursday 10th Sept 2015. The event is the sequel to BBDGO, the 842-mile relay race from John O'Groats to 151 Marylebone Road we successfully completed in 2013. Not only does it cover the additional 318 miles of the country we missed out last time, but we've added in an element of competition: it's a race.
Everyone from the Agency will be split into three different teams representing each of our founders, David Abbott, Peter Mead and Adrian Vickers. As we collectively travel across the country by foot, by wheels, by hoof and by motor, each team member will be vying for points in a number of different challenges. These points will be translated to time bonuses in the final event back at AMV offices on Thursday 10th September.
