Event: The Islip Big Bike Ride, on 12 May 2019
Participants: Islay and Flora Miller
On 12 May 2019, the fourth edition of this popular event will take riders from Westminster Abbey, Great Missenden and Thame to the historic village of Islip (near Oxford). Funds raised will be used to support Islip's primary school and parish church.

Story

On 12 May 2019, hundreds of cyclists will follow Edward the Confessor's route from Westminster to Islip. Islay, Flora and I will join the group to ride from Thame to Islip. It's the longest bike ride the girls have ever done and it's the longest I have done with a broken knee(*)!

We are raising funds to support the Friends of Dr South's School. Funds raised will be distributed between the village primary school and the parish church. They are at the heart of our community and rely on volunteers for support. Your contribution will help enhance the experience of pupils at the school, and will support the valuable community work performed by the church.Thank you in advance for your generous support!

PS This is not us in the photograph (but stars of VC Jericho)!

* Strictly: one ruptured ACL, one ruptured and one torn meniscus.

Throughout the year we organise a wide range of fund-raising activities - from quiz nights to cycling events to Xmas tree sales. The money we collect is used to enrich the experience of pupils at Dr South's School. We work directly with the school to prioritise the projects that secure funding.
