Story

When the opportunity to cycle 180 miles from Leatherhead to Wales for such a great cause came up the decision was easy to make!

It’s a hilly route with the last day measuring 100miles and 1,800m of climbing so it’s not exactly a “walk in the park”

I will be cycling with group of colleagues to raise money for the Get Ahead Charitable Trust in memory of a colleague, Mel Jaggard. Last year Mel lost her battle with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) a rare and (currently) incurable form of cancer. As a group we are hoping to raise a material amount of money to help fund a project at the new Molecular Research Centre at The Royal Marsden to understand the genetic pathways of ACC to enable them to find targets and blockers for it. The project will require funding for the next four years so your money really will make a huge difference!

Cancer impacts so many people and I hope wearing brightly colored stretchy lycra, rubbing creams in odd places and picking bugs from my teeth while pedaling 180miles to Wales is enough to encourage a donation!
