Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I celebrate my 50th birthday soon and I have been looking for something memorable to do to mark the occasion.   I read about this tough 108 mile challenge across the Pennines in January that has to be completed in 60 hours and discovered that previous competitors have faced snow, ice, fog, hail, rain and numerous bogs.

I thought to myself "I'd be mad to do it..........I'd be even madder not to do it, especially as it finishes on my birthday!"

I have been a member of Longtown Mountain Rescue Team for 18 months and have been really impressed by the professionalism and dedication of the team made up entirely of volunteers who go out in all weathers, day and night.  The team is a charity and receives no government funding so if you can support me in any way in my quest to help raise funds towards the cost of a new control vehicle I would be most grateful.
