Story
The 21 April 2013 should have been our sixth wedding anniversary but this year, rather than celebrating in some foreign clime (as we had become accustomed), I will be running the London Marathon instead, having lost my wife to cancer last year. Nikki would have no doubt declared that ‘running is silly’ but I am certain she would wholly approve of me continuing the fundraising legacy that she started, and was desperate to continue, in spite of her illness.
Nikki’s appreciation of the support that she received from Macmillan was coupled with an even deeper appreciation of how vital their support is to those patients and families who have to deal with cancer in more challenging circumstances than we faced.
