Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 30th of August 2020, Mike collapsed suddenly, which we found out was the result of a brain aneurism due to a subarachnoid haemorrhage- a massive bleed in the back of his brain. In less than 24 hours, Mike went from being completely healthy to being brain-stem dead and we had to make the decision to let him go.
Mike's main passion in life was his golf, and we have chosen this charity so that even after his passing, Mike's memory can live on in encouraging young people to learn to play. He loved seeing young people who shared his enthusiasm for the sport and he could vouch for the impact the sport could have on mental and physical well-being.
Throughout his life, Mike was entirely selfless- everything he did, he did for others. We like to think that we could help him continue to do this, even now. Instead of funeral flowers, we are asking you to spare whatever you can towards The Golf Foundation and know that you have made a positive contribution towards a young person's life.
Thank you for taking the time to read Mike's story and donating what you can.
