Please Help!
I am looking for help to raise as much money for Cancer Research UK as possible. Facebook is the most powerful tool available to get a message to people and in sharing my story I would ask that if you can help me in raising as much money as possible, I would really appreciate it. Share with your friends and family and every bit of help and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
16 months ago we had the devastating news of dad's prognosis, esophageal cancer and at the time he was given a limited life expectancy. Some 14 months on, his huge heart and shear dogged determination with the help of our phenomenal NHS and the Royal Hospital, Bradford, Dad is still fighting on, albeit sadly with the knowledge he has limited time with us. A friend, Damien Taft, who has also had a similar experience with loss of his father just 12 months ago to Leukaemia and now the prognosis of his monther's cancer, challenged me and two others to help in raising as much money for Cancer Research UK as possible.
To be honest, one Sunday afternoon in our chosen watering hole, The Cat Enville, we struck a cunning plan, "The London Marathon 2017 ". After much debate and sole searching (and beer), we applied and started the road to fitness and hopefully fundraising. This week, both Damien and I both got the confirmation email from Cancer Research UK that we have both been accpeted on a Golden Bond place.
So, to the challenge; We both want to raise as near to £5000 for the cancer charity. Any help will be appreciated and all donations welcome. If Facebook works, please share my story and have as many people help what is a great cause and sadly a disease that touches nearly all of us directly or in-directly in our lives.
For many years I have played rugby, 18 months ago I started to take part in triathlons, but this my biggest ever challenge, 26 miles. I know you are probably asked on a regular basis for help and for money, but please if you can give anything it will be appreciated.
