Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As the current president of the Automated Materials Handling Systems Association it is my privilege to nominate the Association's charity for this year and I have selected Parkinson's UK for personal reasons.  Many years ago my mother set up my local (Aldershot) Parkinson's branch in order to help her aunt who was a sufferer.  The branch quickly blossomed and was (and still is) a great local success and mum's work was recognised by Parkinson's UK at national level.  I've seen, first hand, the benefit that the local branch support provides and the research advances being made with the support of the national organisation.  I have raised money for Parkinson's UK in the past and am proud to be able to do so again.

I re-discovered cycling a few years ago and thoroughly enjoy getting out on the open road whenever I can.  I've been threatening myself with the London to Brighton ride for the last couple of years and the opportunity has now presented itself thanks to the Christmas gift of an entry, care of my daughter and her partner (both of whom are also entering the event).

If you feel that this is a worthy cause and are able to help and support, thank you, but if, on the other hand, Parkinson's UK is not the charity for you then please do consider supporting other entrants of this event.
