We help people with a learning disability to live their lives as they choose.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Mikaela and I work for Mencap.

I am terrified of two things.... planes and heights, so for the five reasons shown below I have decided to throw myself out of a plane.

I am hoping those of you who know me will appreciate the level of anxiety this will bring upon me, and will give generously to this fabulous cause.... (If these reasons aren't enough, be assured there will be video evidence of my terror).

1. People with a learning disability have the right to be valued.

2. People with a learning disability have the right to be heard.

3. People with a learning disability have the right to live their own lives as they choose.

4. People with a learning disability have the right to live without fear of prejudice and hate crime.

5. People with a learning disability have the right to live in society as equals.

Mencap work tirelessly to make these 5 things a reality for thousands of people with a learning disability across the UK & Northern Ireland, and I am proud to be a part of it.

Thank you :)
