We enable physically disabled people to to enjoy inclusion through technology

Story

I started SpecialEffect in 2007 in response to the need for a specialist charity to focus specifically on cutting edge technology for therapy, rehabilitation and fun for everyone, no matter how severe their disability.

The demand for our work is growing by the day, whether it be young people like the remarkable Charlotte Nott who has lost her hands and feet through meningitis (see this link http://tiny.cc/5lmti) or people who need to use gaze control technology because they have are so disabled that they can only move their eyes. Below is a link to the amazing Alex using gaze control technology.

Meeting the growing demand costs money and I am very grateful for all the incredible support so many wonderful people have given the charity. So when one of them (James Mills) suggested that we should both walk across 2000 broken wine bottles and hot coals to raise fundshow could I refuse? (Mind you, as I remember, he DID wait until I’d finished my fifth pint of Old Hookie before putting the idea forward!)

If you are able to sponsor me in any way at all or even come and support me on the night (the event is in Witney on the 29th of March) then I guarantee that it really would be a huge help. Mick
