Story
Thank you for visiting my just giving page.
My name is Michelle and I am 30 years old with 4 children. After being over weight for many years, and not taking an interest in fitness I decided to make a lifestyle change.
During my interest in fitness, I experimented many different exercise routines when I stumbled across boxing. I found that boxing helped give me mental clarity whilst combatting stress and keeping myself motivated, which can be difficult as a single parent as I also work full time.
I decided that if I was going to revamp myself and my lifestyle then I should try and give myself a goal for determination and to help others in the process, this is where I decided to participate in a Pink Collar Boxing event in Stockport on the 8th April, this will not only help me raise money for a cause I am passionate about but it will also help with motivation and make my children proud of my journey.
I train for this event 5 days per week and I am on a strict training diet, so far in less that 3 months I have already lost over 2.5 stone and I am on target to reach my goal.
I chose to dedicate my success and determination to raise money for Maggies Oldham. Maggies offer free, practical emotional and social support to people with cancer.
Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals Maggies Centres are places with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need. The Centres are places to find practical advice about benefits and eating well. Places where qualified experts provide emotional support, and places to meet other people, places where you can simply sit with a cup of tea.
Ill keep you updated on this page and via facebook, any contribution to the fund raising would be greatly appreciated, no amount is too small or too large ;) and hopefully we can inspire others along the journey, thanks very much for taking and interest and your support.
