Story
A poem for Clara
A lonely figure sitting at the end of the bed, but she is not alone.
As she sits there talking to the lady in the room with her.
Her eyes so blue, her hair so white, a smile so lovely, a beauty to behold.
Her conversation with the lady in the room is quiet and meaningful, she understands it all.
The lady at the end of the bed is a daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, the lady in the room with her is her reflection in the mirror.
They understand each other!
I wrote this poem about the Mum of a friend of mine who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 6 year's ago.
Watching the changes in Clara over the past few years has led me to raise awareness for Alzheimer's Society, who are leading the fight against Alzheimer's disease and other dementia's.
Continuous research is needed to find a cure and your very kind donation will go a long way to help Alzheimer's Society with its care and research programs.
