Story
We have set up this page for our six year old son, Harrison (aka Harribo) who constantly amazes us daily on his fight against Leukaemia.
Harrison was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on October 15th 2013 . The diagnosis came six looooong days after we took him to A&E having had severe back and leg pain overnight. Life changed after that day and we entered a world of tests, chemo, lumbar punctures, fevers and much more.
There are 3 years of chemo ahead for Harrison until he has a full remission. He has endured so much already and will continue a path we never thought imaginable. In the time so far, he has amazed us with his energy, understanding, and ability to accept everything being thrown at him. You can only admire him and take strength from Harrison.
The ethos of the charity is to "bring sparkle back to children with cancer". They do more than this by including the whole family: They have taken so much time to get to know Harrison, ourselves and Myles.
Emily Ash Trust is a smaller charity which looks after families in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex areas.
Have a look at their website: ( www.emilyashtrust.co.uk) and you'll see more about days out, sibling days, family days. All these pleasurable days are memorable and very much needed when your life is thrown upside down.
We've chosen to support this charity during Harrison's battle. Many people have asked what they can do. Well, here it is - whether it's a donation, joining us at the 5k challenge in June or, undertaking your own challenge, it all helps. By donating through this page or, undertaking a challenge and adding yourself as a team member, we will collectively raise more funds to help Emily Ash Trust further support children with cancer and give them moments of pleasure to remember.
Thank you in advance,
Michelle, Steve, Myles and Harrison xoxox
