Story

As many of you know, I lost my wonderful mother to bowel cancer 4 years ago. She may have survived if she had been checked a few years before.  With two brothers diagnosed with bowel cancer she asked to be screened but was told “no, you are very unlikely to get it” by her GP.  By the time she was diagnosed it had spread to her liver and it was too late.

I will be walking the 187 miles of the Thames Path from the source in Gloucestershire to the Thames barrier in London. I will be walking with my own little brown friend Hetty - our lovable Labrador.

Your support in donating to  the Bowelbabe Fund will ensure that more research and awareness is given to this terrible disease.  Dame Deborah James did a huge amount to highlight the need to check your poo so keep doing it!
