Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am doing the Steps Under The Stars in Memory of my sisters partner PAUL.
Paul left a lasting impression on every one he came into contact with, he was a warm and happy person with a wonderful smile as you can see in the picture above, taken at Xmas 2009.
Paul had Aggressive Melanoma Cancer, during his treatment that smile of his was always there. However the treatment did not work and finally Paul was taken into Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
Paul spent his last week there with friends and family by his side. Sadly the Cancer took Paul and he passed away with Carol by his side. From the first Operation to remove the Cancer to his death at age 39 the Cancer took just 7 months to take him away from all who love him and worked with him.
The Doctors and Nurses do a wonderful caring job with so much love to the person they are looking after and the family. The Hospice survives on donations. It cost £10,000 a day to run and they only get about 16% from the Government to help with the running costs.
So that is why Carol and I plus 14 other ladies all family and friends will be doing this walk on the 11th September 2010.
Its a 10 mile walk under the Stars starting at Midnight from Guildford to Farnham ending at the Hospice sometime in the early hours of the morning.
