Story

This is a fundraising page for Michal, all funds are to be used for professional help (therapies).

I live at home with my mummy, daddy and little sister in Surrey. I like
playing football with my daddy, love Lego and Lego Technic. I am a happy little boy and dream to be an engineer when grow up. In many ways Michal is like all other little boys– desperate to learn, play and make friends. He is full of ideas, fun, kind, funny and helpful, but he is
also frustrated, friendless – trapped in a world in which he cannot
speak to anyone or fully understand what people say.

Michal is bright and clever seven years old boy who has diagnose of
Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia/Apraxia of Speech diagnosed by Speech Consultant. Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia (DVD) is rare neurological motor speech planning movement disorder. He knows what he wants say but unable to produce sounds and this impact on his speech.

One speech therapy sessions with therapist who follow Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme costs 95, our little boy needs at least three sessions per week. Our little boy also has a language difficulty – Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). He needs to be taught to speak, intensively and this is possible.

At 2,5 years old Michal could not make any speech like sounds at all. Now he is intelligent and keen to learn and communicate. Speech Therapists say he has enormous potential and with the right therapy he can go on to have a fairly normal life but he requires very intensive (3-5 sessions, 30 min each) a week speech therapy sessions with therapist who is familiar with Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (60 min session cost £90). Researches shows that child with DVD makes good progress if the therapy is intensive and not interrupted.

A number of children with DVD have Motor Dyspraxia as well. Michal has an official diagnose of DVD but Motor Dyspraxia is not official confirmed by the Consultant yet (but indicated by Occupational Therapist and therapists).

He requires a therapy with Occupational Therapist (ideally once a week) to improve his gross motor skill, self regulation, handw 60 min session costs £80.

Without the support of an Occupational Therapist who specialises with Motor Dyspraxia, Michal will not be able to develop successful relationships with the adults and peers around him. This will have a negative impact on his long-term mental health and well-being.

This is why my mummy and daddy are fundraising for me so I can get the therapy that I need to help me communicate better and to help live as normal life as you. We would like to raise enough funds to help me to get the medical care and attention that I need and the help and support for my family that have not been available to us through the normal NHS system.

Please help us make it happen. Anything you can contribute will be so gratefully received.

We THANK YOU for your support. It truly means the world to us.

Lots of Love!!!
