We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

On the weekend of my 52 birthday I am going to cycle 200 miles. 100 miles each day

A challenge that I think is a mammoth one for anybody.

I have had Type 1 diabetes since my late teens and its been the wonderful support in so many ways from Diabetes UK that has helped me manage a condition, which if left badly managed will have dire consequences to the diabetic - probably fatal.
Diabetes causes more deaths than prostate and breast cancer combined
Type 2 diabetes (95% of diabetics on this planet have Type 2, 90% in UK) is not a mild form of diabetes
Vast majority of Type 1 diabetics are children when diagnosed
Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in people of working age
50% of people with diabetes die from heart disease or stroke
Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure
Type 2 diabetes is linked to being over weight.
There is no cure for Type 1 diabetes
I am training hard to achieve my goal raising much needed funds for Diabetes UK.
Please help if you can. But if you can’t (which is of course totally fine) do please share my Just Giving page with your family and friends via Facebook and other social media sites
