Story
I have been serving on the board of OneVillage Partners (OVP) for the past couple of years. This organization serves the people of Sierra Leone in West Africa, one of the poorest countries in our world, with programs of community improvement and hope.
OVP uses a model where community residents make decisions about their needs, and work together with staff and volunteers to create the solutions necessary for improving their lives. In a country where life expectancy is only 53 years, average annual family income is $416, where most rural villages have no electricity or running water in the homes, and where, just as we are, the people are trying to cope with COVID19, OneVillage Partners is providing practical solutions to help improve health care and the peoples' way of life.
Randi and I visited some of the villages in Sierra Leone last November and know first hand how important this organization is to the lives of the people there. I know that this is a difficult financial time for all of us but encourage you to please join Randi and me in sharing some of your resources with our brothers and sisters across the world who have so little. Wishing you good health and spirit.
