Story
This year I decided to sign up for the Bath Half Marathon after realising I hadn't done any form of exercise since coming to university. Furthermore, I am trying to raise a bit of money for a charity helping people with a condition known as Transverse Myelitis- a rare autoimmune disease of the spinal cord that can paralyse a person from the neck down in a matter of hours.
My motivation to raise money for this charity came after my fathers diagnosis of Transverse Myelitis in 2015. Fortunately, we were lucky and he went on to make an almost complete recovery with only a few, manageable symptoms to date. Many however don't and can be left permanently disabled and in chronic pain.
This is where the TM Society come in. They are a relatively small charity, run mainly by people with TM but they provide an amazing service of patient support, disease awareness campaigning and the provision of bursary's or grants helping those in dire need of medical equipment or physiotherapy.
Please help by donating as much as you can, its a really great cause!
