Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Sam had a cancerous brain tumour and after a nearly five year battle he passed away in 2013. Sam spent a lot of his time away from treatment raising awareness of brain tumours and helping to raise money towards research. Sam lobbied MPs at the houses of parliament, he helped raise money and awareness at the University of Nottingham, he spoke at the European parliament in Brussels and helped towards changing European law on trials directives. He took part in a 5k sponsored walk in his wheelchair, he was lucky enough to carry the Olympic torch through his home town. He told his mum and I to continue his good work if he was to die, to this day we strive to do this.
I will be running this marathon in Sam's memory and to raise vital funds for research. I ran this last year and said I wouldn't again but since then we have started the charity The Sam White Legacy and feel I must attempt this gruelling task once more for my sons charity.
