Story
On 17th June I will be swimming 2 miles in the cold (13C) water of Lake Windermere in order to help raise money for BIBS, Babies in Buscott Support. Please give generously!
Although our twins were relatively healthy when they were born, Robyn needed a little extra support with her breathing and had to spend the first 24 hours of her life on Buscott Special Care Baby Unit in an incubator. Sam went along to keep her company and the care and support that they received from the staff was fantastic. Our two were lucky enough to only need a short stay on the unit but some of their little friends on the unit had been there for months and were needing lots of input. The staff work incredibly hard and the hospital always needs money for specialist equipment to help support these tiny babies. I want to show how grateful we are for the help the staff on Buscott Ward gave Sam and Robyn by doing the Great North Swim. Without it, their start to life could have been a different story and they may not be the happy, healthy thriving pair that they are today.
