At the end of May 250 people pedalled 350 miles round Northern France visiting the sites of WW1 battles and raising money to help rehabilitate the young men and women who have been injured in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. However because of a serious misjudgement on my part I didn't make it.

Having done quite alot of training struggling round the Derbyshire Dales in March and April, I got caught out a week before the 'off' when I stalled at a T- junction with car approaching, failed to unclip my shoes, fell and broke leg. It's nearly mended now although my temper has not improved as I cannot blame anyone but myself. Still, thank you all, who sponsored me, even though I didn't go round the course - it is the 'Heroes' who matter.
