This year I'm 70 and I'm celebrating with a party. I decided that rather than gifts I wanted to ask for charitable donations instead. My Mum who passed away 2 years ago was a regular visitor to the Leonard Sainer Centre in Edgware. She love going there, it was the highlight of here otherwise boring week. She also loved her garden at home in Potters Bar and I knew that there were no useable outside spaces at the centre. I visited the centre this week and together with the Manager we have set aside an area, albeit quite small for the creating of a garden.This will enable visitors to have an out side space in which to relax in the warmer months. New benches will be installed, the concrete will be covered with synthetic turf, planters established and the area generally brought alive. This project will be created in memory of my dear Mother Lilian Lester who would have enjoyed its facilities and been just a little bit proud that it will bear her name
