Run for Ray
Recently we all lost a dear friend “my best friend” Ray.
He was old school a real gentleman, hardworking a family man who adored his wife children and grandchild.
As a friend he was always fun, he was athletic and a mentor to everyone around him. We all have our own special memories of him.
We talked about doing something in our 60th year. Our chosen event was the BUPA London 10K in May. This run was for ‘US’ to raise some money for charity and give something back.
Sadly this was not to be nobody had any idea of what he was going through, suffering in silence as men stubbornly do. It’s hard to get our head around what has happened to Ray and to his family whom he has left behind.
I have registered to run in the BUPA London 10K event (27th May) in Ray’s memory. His family selected Depression Alliance as their chosen charity after they saw an article in their local paper which touched their hearts.
By doing something small to promote this charity making people aware family, friends and work colleagues who may be suffer from depression in silence. That they are not alone and help is out there.
In a small way this may save someone’s life.
I know that on the day I will not be alone Ray will be there with me every step of the way.
Please donate to support our chosen charity, to educate others about the realities of depression.
