Story

My name is Mick Keeble and for over twenty years I have been in a wheelchair due to a swimming accident in Spain. In that time I have watched lots of people do amazing things to raise money for charity and have always felt that it is something that I would like to do but as usual I have never got around to it.

Two years ago I started to look at various options

Shall I push a marathon ? – Take me to long.

Shall I do a sponsored swim ? – Cannot swim but good at sinking.

Shall I do a sponsored fast ? – Like my food to much.

Then it came to me, grow my hair for two years and then have it shaved off, this seemed the best idea and the hair growing began. As you can see by the pictures above the hair is covering my face and running down my back and on the 02nd August 2009 at a Charity Football Match I will be having my head shaved to raise as much money as I can for the nominated charities listed below.

St Lukes Hospice (Charity No 289466) – My father contracted cancer and was taken from us, as a family you never get over it but time does heal and he is always in our thoughts. He himself received hospice care and as most of us know they need charity money to keep doing their good work.

As I have said many times over the last 20 months to everyone who shouted “Get your haircut” from their cars or stopped me in the street to enquire if I was going through a mid life crisis. No, I am doing this to raise money for charity so please give generously when the time comes, now it has.

Thanks for your support
