Story
Hugs from Henry is a charity that my wife and I set up after our precious boy, Henry, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, Neuroblastoma, at the tender age of 3. The cancer was aggressive and we were given a very poor prognosis of survival. After battling the disease and over many painful and traumatising treatments, Henry survived.
As his parents we felt it was imperative to make a difference to other families going through what we had... Hugs from Henry was born!
As well as amazing Group events, hospital visits and emotional support, the Hugs from Henry respite home is open all year round to the oncology families.
The home is set in the idilic Cornish countryside, in a small complex of cottages. The “home from home” is a two bed cottage, with sea views that we know families will love and appreciate their time there to make precious memories.
To run this respite home we need to raise upwards of £1500 per month, this is on top of other costs of the group events, hospital visits and emotional support.
So in September 2020 I will be climbing Kilimanjaro to try and raise as much money as possible for Hugs from Henry.
The challenge will see me climb 19,340ft over 8 days tackling not only the long 12 hour day of trekking but also the altitude and the sickness this may cause.
I have been given a training programme and I also will be planning events to try and raise the funds needed BUT I need YOUR SUPPORT to help me smash my goal!
Please share my justgiving page and posts to help me reach my target!
