Michael's Edinburgh Marathon page

Morpeth to Newcastle · 17 July 2016
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The original Marathon challenge has extended to include Ride To The Sun, a 101 bike ride from Carlisle to Cramond through the night, fuelled by fish'n'chips at Moffat half-way through and bacon sarnies at the finish at 4.30am. Details at www.ridetothesun.co.uk
Part 1 completed! Thanks to Mark Oliver for the company and to Watbus for the lift back to Newcastle. An epic event.....loved it so much I might do it again next year,
Now you can't just do 2 challenges as these things come in threes so I'm cycling the 170miles Coast and Castles challenge from Newcastle to Edinburgh from 28-30 July,
After various unsuccessful attempts to get to the start line of a marathon in 2016 I've entered the 2017 Edinburgh Marathon.
I'm taking this challenge on because of 2 reasons. First, and least important, is that I've done more than 25 half marathons and don't want to finish running without ever having done a full marathon. The Morpeth to Newcastle event looked like "fun" but its been postponed so I'm doing Chester instead.
Second, and much more important, is that I want to help raise money for Team Evie, a charity that does fantastic work to provide support for sick babies and their families across the North. It was set up by Greg and Jill, 2 inspirational people, in memory of their daughter, Evie. The Chester marathon will happen around the time of Evie's first anniversary. Although running a marathon might be hard work (who knows?) your support will help ease me through the hard miles of training and , on the day itself, any tough moments. And more importantly, will help Team Evie to continue their fantastic work helping to provide equipment and support for poorly babies and their families.
